Employer Description
At Glazer’s we are privileged to be recognized as one of the most successful sales and marketing organizations in our industry. That’s how we’ve become one of the country’s largest distributors of beverage alcohol. Glazer’s Family of Companies is firmly established with 43 offices in 11 states, and we’re still family-owned and operated.
The company began in 1909 in Dallas, Texas, where Louis Glazer opened the Jumbo Bottling Company, which distributed a line of flavored soda waters from the back of horse-drawn wagons. Glazer’s Distributors, as the company is known today, was established on Sept. 3, 1933 by Max and Nolan Glazer, two of Louis Glazer’s sons. By 1966, Glazer’s had expanded beyond Texas to three additional states. And our energized growth continues today.
Our commitment to building brands, our strategic focus on marketing and the company’s passion for outstanding service drive our high performance, results-producing culture. Partnering as a valued resource to our customers and suppliers, we are dedicated as the industry’s preferred provider of beverage alcohol products in each of our markets.

The Waco Chamber of Commerce recognizes Glazer's ongoing efforts to promote environmental intiatives. Glazer’s Wholesale Distributors in Texas Central Park has experienced a significant savings since they retrofitted the lighting intheir warehouse, offices and restrooms. “We installed a new lighting system in January 2007, and we have seen significant savings to say the least, about $4000 permonth," said branch manager Jon Lamar."When they told me that we would pay for the system in 18 months, I quite frankly was a little skeptical, but we have paid for it in about a year."The seven-year-old facility’s 350 high wattage bulbs were replaced with T5 high output reflector fixtures significantly reducing the kilowatt usage and improvingthe lighting. “Glazer's decided to do this for two reasons: financial savings, because we are all trying to find ways to save money, and to reduce our carbon footprint, which is very important to a company the size of ours,”said Lamar.

- Arkansas Community Service Award Finalist (2009)
- Arkansas Department of Human Services Division of Volunteerism, KARK, St. Vincent Health System and the Governor's Office.
- A lot of Arkansas non-profit agencies hold a lot of fundraising events, from house and garden tours to dinners to golf tournaments. Cutting corners on expenses is critical to the success of these events, and one large beverage distributor donates products and services to help them clear as much money as possible. "I wanted to nominate them because they have been so helpful, and we can count on them for what they do for the Cancer Institute," says Janie Lowe with the Winthrop P. Rockefeller Cancer Institute about Glazer's Distributors of Arkansas. "You know, I think they've been involved for the past 14 years. This is the 14th year for the gala, and it really is remarkable to have such a partner," says Rachelle Sanders, Executive Director of the Rockefeller Cancer Institute. "The company has always believed in giving back, and we call it Glazer's community partnership, and the more we can do community relations for others, the more effective we can be, and get a great deal of satisfaction from it," says Richard Levi, Senior Vice-President for Community Relations for Glazer's Distributors. Glazer's Distributors of Arkansas is a finalist for the large corporate humanitarian award.
