Life Experience
-
- a Fairytale come true
After graduating from school I wasn't really sure about in what direction my life was supposed to go but one dream always kept me company throughout my years: going to America and exploring a world across the Atlantic, only known to me from television and movies. With no doubt I faced the challenge of giving up my family and friends, independence, and familiarity in order to experience the life of a foreigner in a host family. New title: AuPair. My horizon expanded from month to month with new impressions, places, and people. Among these was the final answer to my search for a path in life. I found my place next to a wonderful boyfriend that opened my eyes for seeing myself as what I have become over my time here. I grew, became a survivor who stands strong in a place that does not carry her roots but represents a home of possibilities with all kinds of answers. A plan of a one-year experience as foreign babysitter, a "time-out" for a lost soul in her search for her place in life, continues now as a student who found her passion in teaching children, sharing the eagerness and curiosity of unknown things and places. My fairytale hasn't reached its final destination; it is still being written- day after day.
