Hockey has been a passion of mine since I was a very young child. I have built leadership qualities as well as a strong work ethic becasuse of the sport. I was captain of my High School division 1 hockey team and I earned the coaches award ("work hard/play tough" award) my senior year. I no longer play competitively due to a back injury but I love to skate every chance I get!

I also enjoy golfing, snowboarding, and waterskiing.

    Work Experience Indicator

      • Server
      • Coast Guard House
      • Narragansett, RI

      • I accepted a summer position at the Coast Guard House in May 2010. The Coast Guard House is a famous fine-dining reasturant located on the ocean-front in Narragansett, RI.

      • Server
      • Rhody Joe's Saloon
      • Wakefield, RI

      • I was hired at Chelo's Bar and Grill (now Rhody Joe's Saloon) at the start of my sophomore year of college. Chelo's is a family owned resturaunt chain located all throughout the state of Rhode Island. I worked for Chelo's part time my sophomore, junior, and senior year of college. My typical schedule ranged from 20-35 hours a week. I also worked for them as a full-time server in the summer of 2009. Chelo's went through renovations in October 2009, and is now known as "Rhody Joe's Saloon" (Still owned by the Chelo's family). The new resturaunt has a much larger and much more unique menu than Chelo's did, and sales have increased over 80% from last year.

Working at a resturant has been an excellent experience. When you are a server you have to earn your tips, and the only way to earn a good tip is to make sure your customers leave happy. I was forced to deal with so many different types of personalities, some very easy to get along with and others not so easy to work with. I believe working as a server has given me some important skills I need in order to be successful.

I became a "server trainer" in the summer of 2009. Server trainers are paid more than servers, and it is our job to teach new potential servers the way our resturaunt works.

      • Assistant Account Manager
      • Rexel Capitol Light
      • Hartford, CT
      • April 2006 - September 2008

      • Rexel Capitol Light is an electrical distributor, with their main focus being light fixtures and accessories. They are a national company originally based out of Hartford, CT. Capitol Light conducts business with big name retail stores such as GAP (gap, old navy, banana republic), Limited (Victoria Secret, Express, etc.), Yankee Candle, Foot Locker, and many more.

I started working for Capitol Light in my senior year of high school and held a full-time position during the winter and summer breaks throughout college (2006-2008). Although most of the work I did was on an internship level (mostly busy work using excel spreadsheets, working with invoices, making photo copies, etc.), I had the opportunity to work for a few different departments which included purchasing, maintenance, and sales. This provided me with a chance to really understand how all different segements of a business work.
