School Description
Welcome to the Career Development Center
Our office provides a number of services and resources to help students in their career decision-making and job search plans. Please read our special note to alumni.
Our goal is to help students discover who they are and how that translates into career opportunities. As students learn about careers and begin their professional journeys, we strive to help them discover personal authenticity and fulfillment in the world of work.
Our focus is clear – to help students find careers where they find themselves.
Here are some reasons why Loyola University New Orleans is a valuable recruiting source for you:
Call to moral and ethical excellence
Steeped in the more than 450-year-old Jesuit tradition of educating the whole person, Loyola University New Orleans’ education is not limited to books and static academic resources. Our students receive classroom and real-life lessons in moral decision-making, ethics, social justice, service, and other character-forming activities. These young men and women can bring this vision, knowledge, and tools to your organization’s culture, values, and business goals.
Experienced talent pool, even for entry-level positions
Internships, service-learning, real-life project-based assignments, leadership roles, and national competitions are fervently encouraged for many of the majors. Business students are required to complete at least one meaningful internship to finish their degrees. This focus on experiential education provides opportunities for Loyola students to apply the theories they learn in the classroom in real-world settings. And this application practice provides employers with experienced young talent.
Ethnically diverse student body with an intercultural understanding
Loyola students work on teams, befriend, and experience other students from many different cultures. Additionally, our emphasis on multicultural understanding in education and co-curricular programming encourages students of all walks to learn about others. This develops a talent pool with the tools for working in diverse organizational environments.
